Reddish or yellow liquid
Uses
Wintergreen is used as a flavoring in foods, beverages, drugs, and candies.
It is also used as a perfume in root beer, and as an ultraviolet light
absorber in cosmetics.
It is used as a pain reliever in liniments and ointments. It is a
rubefacient,
something that dilates blood vessels.
The most widely used salicylate is
aspirin.
