Uses

Triclosan is a broad spectrum anti-bacterial and anti-fungal agent.

It is related to hexachlorophene in structure.

It is used in toothpaste, detergents, laundry soaps, cosmetics, and mouthwashes.

Triclosan kills germs by interfering with the enzyme necessary for fatty-acid synthesis.
