Light yellow liquid.

Uses

Vitamin E is added to food products as a nutrient, but more often it is added for its anti-oxidant properties, protecting oils and fats from oxidation.

Tocopherols come in various forms only slightly different from the α-tocopherol shown in the structural formula above. β and γ forms differ in where the methyl groups are attached to the ring structure. An ingredients list may single out the α form, or may just say "mixed tocopherols".
