Uses

Trilinolenin is an omega-3 polyunsaturated fat. This type of fat, like trilineolin, has been linked to a number of beneficial effects in the cardiovascular system, and is an anti-oxidant.

Trilinolenin is found in oils such as soybean oil and linseed oil.

Omega-3 refers to where the first (or only) double bond is located on the fatty acid. The last carbon is called the "omega" carbon (omega is the last letter in the greek alphabet).

If there is a double bond between the third and fourth carbons from the end (the "omega-3" and "omega-4" carbons), then the oil is an omega-3 fat. Omega-3 fats are known for their beneficial cardiovascular effects.
